TZEFFREY + TZANETOS.

IT'S GREEK FOR JEFFREY + JANETOS

On February 27, 1911 a Greek teenager named Panaghiotis Tzanetos arrived at Ellis Island aboard the U.S.S. Martha Washington. When he told immigration officials his name, they shook their heads and said, "That's not going to work here." So Panaghiotis became "Peter." And Tzanetos became "Janetos" to phonetically match the Greek pronunciation.

To honor the trail-blazing, entreprenurial spirit of Andrea's grandfather Panaghiotis Tzanetos, who came to the U.S. with $20 and started the Ohio Ice Cream Company, we chose to spell "Jeffrey + Janetos" the way the Greeks intended it to be spelled. After all, it was the Greeks who invented advertising, right?
